I’ve spent my entire career helping people find their strength.
Now I help women find it again in their second half of life.
I’m Lori, founder of Second Summit.
For more than two decades, I’ve lived in the world of movement, performance, and transformation. I’ve worked with elite collegiate athletes, new moms rebuilding their bodies and lives, and families who wanted to feel strong, healthy, and fully alive.
On paper, I had the perfect “health and fitness” life.
Inside, as my boys grew up, I started to feel quietly lost.
My three sons are now 20, 19, and 14. The season of little kids and constant chaos is over. The house is a little quieter. My schedule looks different. And I found myself asking the same question so many women in midlife whisper to themselves:
“What now? Who am I beyond being the one who takes care of everyone else?”
That question is what led me to create Second Summit, adventure-based retreats for women who are ready to rediscover their strength, courage, and purpose in the second half of life.
My background (for the women who like credentials)
National Athletic Trainers Association, Certified Athletic Trainer
National Academy of Sports Medicine, Certified Personal Trainer
Precision Nutrition, Level 1 Certified
National Association of Sports Nutrition, Certified
I earned my B.S. in Movement Studies and Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University, and my M.A. in Exercise Science from Montclair State University.
From there, I:
Worked as an Athletic Trainer at Seton Hall University
Joined UCLA as a staff Athletic Trainer, traveling with women’s basketball and working directly with women’s tennis and the 2003 national championship women’s water polo team
Focused on injury prevention, rehab, and sport-specific training, and became known for bringing athletes back from injury faster and safer
When my oldest son was born, I wanted to be home with him and keep doing the work I loved. That’s when Mommy-Moves Fitness was born.
Over the years, I:
Founded Mommy-Moves, Mommy-Runs, and Extreme Mom Boot Camp
Helped hundreds of clients build healthier lives through fitness and nutrition
Wrote as a fitness columnist for The Family Groove and as a mom blogger for Meridian Momtourage
Spoke at regional athletic training conferences and Meridian events
Filmed a stroller fitness class for an MTV reality show
Helped grow the Clean Cut nutrition and lifestyle program nationally
I’ve always been obsessed with one thing:
Helping people see what they’re capable of, and then go live it.
Why I created Second Summit
As my boys grew older and more independent, something in me shifted.
The woman who could rehab athletes, lead boot camps, juggle kids and career, and pour into everyone around her… suddenly realized she hadn’t asked herself what she wanted in a very long time.
I felt:
Proud of what I’d built
Grateful for my family
And at the same time… untethered
I was in my own “Second Summit” season, still strong, still ambitious, but unsure of my next chapter.
I realized I wasn’t alone.
So many high-achieving, midlife women I knew felt the same:
Life looked good on paper, but something was missing.
They were craving adventure, challenge, and joy, not just one more to-do list.
They wanted clarity and direction, but didn’t know where to start.
Second Summit is my answer to that need.
It blends everything I know about:
Adventure and adrenaline (in a safe, smart, supportive way)
Movement and the body (how we hold stress, fear, and power physically)
Coaching, clarity, and connection (so you don’t just have a “fun trip,” you have a turning point)
What I believe
You are not “past your prime.” You’re standing at the base of your next summit.
Adventure is one of the fastest ways to remember who you really are.
Midlife is not an ending; it’s an invitation.
You don’t need to burn your life down to find yourself. You just need space, challenge, and support.
Second Summit is for women like you, and women like me, who are ready to:
Feel bold and brave again
Step out of autopilot
Create a second half of life that feels intentional, exciting, and deeply true
An invitation
If you’re a woman who has given so much to everyone else and now quietly wonders, “What’s next for me?”, you’re exactly who I built this for.
You don’t have to have your whole life figured out.
You just have to be willing to take one powerful, adventurous step toward yourself.
I’d be honored to walk and climb that next summit with you.
